The Japanese traveller spent time in Wellington and visited a ramen restaurant in Newtown, among other places.

These premises are considered low risk.

The co-owner of The Ramen Shop in Newtown, Asher Boote, said they have been assured they did not need to close.

He said one staff member had been sent home to be tested.
