A 79-year-old man was the victim of a fatal hit-and-run in Counties Manukau last night.

Police say he was crossing Russell Road in Manurewa, when he was struck by a car at about 7.45pm near Arbor Close.
The car did not stop, and the man died from his injuries in hospital a short time later.
Police are looking at CCTV footage to try and identify the car and are also urging the driver to come foward.
They also want to hear from anyone who may have seen the incident.
