A 19 year old has been arrested after a firearms incident last week in the Northland town of Moerewa.

He was arrested by police with the support of the Armed Offenders Squad in Kawakawa this morning.
The man will be appearing in the Kaikohe District Court today where he will face at least nine charges relating to multiple alleged incidents over the past month.
Far North Police Inspector Riki Whiu said the arrest came about with the help of information from the public.
"We want to extend our thanks to our Moerewa and Kawakawa communities for assisting Police, providing us with information and tolerating our increased armed presence."
Whiu said the arrest would provide reassurance to the community.
