A person is in a critical condition after being hit by a train in Matamata.
Police say the pedestrian was struck on Hinuera Rd, south of the Waikato township, about 9pm yesterday.
Police said the person is reported to be in a critical condition.
Hinuera Road has reopened after being closed last night.
