Heavy rain and possibly severe gales are set to hit the north of the country from tomorrow.

MetService has issued a severe weather warning for Northland, Auckland, the Coromandel Peninsula and northern Waikato for Sunday and Monday.
It says the heaviest rain is likely in Northland and Coromandel, where there is potential risk to people, animals and property.
MetService says strong easterlies could make driving hazardous, especially for high-sided vehicles.
