A teenager has died in hospital after bring stuck in a rip at an Auckland west coast beach today.

Four teenagers got into trouble after getting stuck in a rip shortly after midday at Karekare beach.
Three made it back to shore and lifeguards rescued the fourth from the water.
One was airlifted to Auckland Hospital in a critical condition but has since died.
