Man pleads not guilty to attempted murder after Hawke's Bay stabbing

A man has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder after a stabbing in Hawke's Bay.

Jordan Nuku is accused of stabbing a woman outside a Napier dairy on Ellison Street in March.

The woman, who was known to the 35 year old, suffered stab wounds to her torso and was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Via video link at the High Court in Wellington today, Nuku pleaded not guilty to attempted murder.

However, he pleaded guilty to breaching a protection order.

Justice France set a trial date of June next year and remanded Nuku in custody until then.
