A two-car crash on SH2 in the Bay of Plenty has left one person dead and two with moderate to serious injuries.
Police said the fatal crash occurred on SH 2 Aongatete - Eastern about 8.30pm.
The two others with injuries were taken to hospital.
While emergency services attend the scene and the crash is being investigated, the road is down to one lane.
Motorists have been asked to be patient.
