Police have charged a man with murder in relation to the death of Thunder Savage at his home in Edgecumbe last year.
Savage, 45, was found dead in his home on 2 October.
Police say a 54-year-old man appeared in Whakatāne District Court today charged with murder.
He will reappear in Tauranga High Court next month.
Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to Savage's death, however, they are appealing for more information from members of the public.
