A man has been airlifted to Wellington Hospital in a critical condition after being shot in the leg.

Police were called to the scene at Awatere Valley in Marlborough about 5.25am.
A police spokesperson said the shooting did not appear to be suspicious.
Officers are speaking to a number of people to establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
