One person has died and another suffered serious injuries after a crash on the Kaipara Coast Highway at Wellsford, north of Auckland.
Police said the crash was reported just after 5pm, and a third person had minor injuries.
State Highway 16 between Wayby Station Rd and Port Albert Rd remains closed due to the crash.
NZTA said northbound detours are in place via Harding Rd and Port Albert Rd. Southbound traffic should consider using SH1 from Wellsford.
