A 16-year-old girl has died in hospital overnight, the second person to die from a crash on Summit Road in Christchurch more than two weeks ago.

A car went off the road and caught fire between Bridle Path and Dyers Pass Road on 27 November, leaving one person dead and injuring three others.
In a statement today, police said a 16-year-old girl who sustained critical injuries in the crash passed away in Middlemore Hospital last night.
