There will be huge disruption to traffic in Auckland on the first weekend of September as one of the country's busiest sections of motorway is closed for construction work.
The Transport Agency is closing the southbound lanes of the Southern Motorway at the Newmarket Viaduct on Saturday 4 September and Sunday 5 September while it replaces the road with a bridge.
The agency says there will be significant delays on the motorway and surrounding roads and is urging drivers to avoid the area.
The Transport Agency has been emailing information about the closure to people, asking them to forward it on to everyone they know.
