The police searched ten properties around the city, and found two clandestine meth labs in Papakura and Manurewa in the city's south.

Two stolen cars, six stolen motorbikes, a sawn-off shotgun and high-powered rifles were recovered, along with $15,000 in cash.

At an address in St Johns, a number of items associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine were also found.

Operation Beacon was a three month investigation targeting the Auckland-based group allegedly involved in the manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine.

Seven men and a woman have been arrested.
