A preliminary hearing for a man accused of murdering a good Samaritan as he went to help a stranger last year, has been delayed.
Austin Hemmings was described as a hero after helping the woman who said she had been assaulted, in Mills Lane in central Auckland in September.
Mr Hemmings was stabbed to death.
A preliminary hearing for Pauesi Leofa Brown was due to begin on Wednesday morning.
But his lawyer told the Auckland District Court he is waiting for more information from the police and the Crown.
The Crown agreed to adjourn the case until 21 August and Mr Brown was remanded in custody.
