Train services out of Wellington have resumed after they were shut down by a nationwide signalling issue, but commuters are being warned to expect delays.

The services were suspended for more than half an hour this afternoon.
While they had not resumed, MetLink said trains will not be departing from their regular platforms from Wellington.
Earlier, MetLink said it was having difficulty sourcing bus replacements between Wellington and Petone/Porirua, and recommended people seek alternative transport from Wellington.
