Cannabis bunker found: Arrests, $5m in assets seized

Two men have been arrested and assets worth $5 million have been seized over a cannabis operation in the South Island.

Police say those arrested were supplying cannabis throughout Canterbury and the West Coast.

A huge underground bunker containing a sophisticated cannabis growing operation and a large number of firearms were found.

A 63-year-old man has been charged with cultivating and selling cannabis and is due to appear in the Greymouth District Court today.

A 72-year-old Ngahere man was arrested last week, charged with possession for supply of cannabis and will appear in the Christchurch District Court later this month.
