A 66-year-old man is in hospital with serious facial injuries after being attacked by burglars.
Two men are facing charges over the incident.
The victim is recovering at Waikato Hospital and police said he did not know the two attackers.
They said their car had broken down near the 66-year-old's home in Tirohia in eastern Waikato on Friday night.
After their attack on the resident, they fled in a stolen car taken from his property.
One of the two arrested man is a 29-year-old from Te Aroha, the other is a 22-year-old, also from Te Aroha.
Both are due to appear in the Hamilton District Court tomorrow.
