Six appear in court after man's throat slashed

Six people have appeared at the Papakura District Court following an incident in which a man's throat was slashed with what is thought to have been a broken bottle.

The attack happened in the suburb of Papakura shortly after 5pm on Thursday.

Tanielu Nonu, 18, suffered a cut to his neck and is in Middlemore Hospital in a stable condition.

Kaakerangi Wallace, Phillip Rameka, Tehara Aramoana, Terehu Croft, and Margaret Croft, aged between 18 and 39, were charged with assault.

A 16 year old, who cannot be named, was charged with assault in the Youth Court.

All six were remanded on bail and will reappear in court later this month.
