Eight people were taken to hospital on Monday night after a crash in the Hauraki district.
Diversions were put in place following the crash at the intersection of State Highway 25 and Front Miranda Road at Waitakaruru, about 23km from Thames.
One person was airlifted to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition.
Two others, in serious and moderate conditions, were taken there by another helicopter.
The remaining five have minor injuries and were taken to the Thames emergency department.
