A 10-month-old baby seriously injured in Hokitika yesterday has died, police have confirmed.
The baby was airlifted to Christchurch Hospital yesterday in a critical condition, but has since died.
A 30-year-old man arrested yesterday on one count of wounding has now been charged with murder.
He was granted interim name suppression during an appearance at the Christchurch District Court this morning and is due to appear again this afternoon.
