An English tourist has been critically injured and is in a coma following an attack in Napier.
The 30-year-old man, who is currently working in Australia, flew into Napier to attend a weekend wedding.
On Thursday night he was walking home from a stag party in the suburb of Taradale when he was attacked.
Police spokesperson Kris McGehan says three males, all aged 17 from Taradale, allegedly stomped several times on the man's head and face.
A passer-by found the man lying on the footpath. He was taken to Hawke's Bay Hospital.
The accused appeared in Napier District Court on Friday and were remanded in custody to reappear next week.
