A person has died after a crash involving a car and a bicycle in Matamata, Waikato, this evening.

Police said the cyclist had died at the scene after the crash about 6.40pm.
They earlier said the person was critically injured and a helicopter had been dispatched, but by 8.40pm confirmed they had died.
The driver of the car was moderately injured and taken to hospital.
Diversions were in place.
