A man charged with murder after a fatal stabbing in Dunedin on Monday night can now be named.
Freezing worker Matakaua Ngaruaine Rouvi, known as Karl Rouvi, 50, is accused of murdering Moana Aranui, 21.
He is under police guard in Dunedin hospital for treatment for self inflicted stab wounds and will be remanded in prison when he is fit to be discharged.
He will next appear in court on 12 February.
