Two people have been killed in separate crashes in the North Island.
One person has died and another is in a serious condition in Gisborne Hospital after in a single-vehicle smash at Tokomaru Bay yesterday afternoon.
A second person has died following a two-car collision near Kawerau.
Police said the crash occurred just after 5pm yesterday on State Highway 34 between State Highway 30 and Kawerau.
