Four suspicious fires are being investigated by Invercargill police, including one that forced a family out of their home.
Police say a neighbour noticed the Bain St house was on fire and told the family to get out.
Detective Fred Shandley says no one was hurt in any of the fires, but the first two destroyed two sheds on separate properties, the third forced five people out of their home and then a refrigeration unit was set alight on top of a business in South City Mall.
He says all four fires occured between midnight and 10 o'clock on Tuesday morning on the south side of the city and arson can't be ruled out.
