Police in Hamilton have charged three people with aiding a fugitive, which they say should act as a warning to others.
One of three men who escaped from a police escort van on Monday, was caught early on Friday.
Richard Joseph, 30, was arrested at a Tokoroa address, along with three family associates who have been charged with aiding the fugitive.
Detective Sergeant Kevan Verry says anyone assisting the remaining two escaped prisoners will be arrested and charged.
Thomas Te Rangi, 19, and Darren Snowden, 22, remain at large.
