No new cases of measles have come to light since a university student was diagnosed with the disease in Dunedin last week.

The 18-year-old, who was flatting with others, is not believed to have been immunised against the disease.

The Southern DHB's medical officer of health, Susan Jack, said contact tracing of the student's close contacts has been completed and no new cases have been identified.

The measles, mumps and rubella vaccine is available through GPs and student health, but Dr Jack said there is no harm from an extra dose if people are unsure whether they have been immunised.
