One person has been critically injured in a car crash in North Canterbury.

The car hit a power-pole on Old West Coast Road, near Darfield just before 9.30am.
Two other people who were in the car have moderate to serious injuries.
All three of the patients have been transferred to Christchurch Hospital.
Police said although the road was not closed, people should avoid the area if possible.
