Part of State Highway 25 on the Coromandel Peninsula has reopened after a serious crash earlier this morning.

Emergency services were called at about 6am today after a car and motorcycle collided south of Manaia.

One person was flown to Auckland Hospital in a critical condition.

The Transport Agency says the road has now reopened under stop-go traffic management.

Drivers are being warned to expect delays in the area.
