A 28-year-old man who was shot in the stomach on a street in south Auckland remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Police were called to Waimate Street in Otara just after 10.30am this morning.
The shot man was taken to Middlemore Hospital.
Police have still not found the gunman, who is thought to be known to the victim.
They are appealing for any sightings of a purple Audi A3 Hatchback with registration ELL259.
The cordon at the scene has now been lifted.
