A fire that gutted an Ōamaru house this afternoon is being treated as suspicious.
The Reed Street house was extensively damaged and a man was taken to hospital with burns after the fire began at about 2.30pm.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said three fire engines and two tankers helped to tackle the blaze.
The fire also damaged a neighbouring property before it was put out an hour later.
Investigators are at the scene.
