One person has been killed in a crash in Bay of Plenty early this morning.
Only one car was involved in the accident, which happened just before 4.30am on Te Puna Road west of Tauranga.
One other person in the car was critically injured.
Police are urging anyone who saw anything or has any relevant information to get in touch with them.
Last night, a driver was killed in a single vehicle crash on Christchurch's Southern Motorway.
The man was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
