A 21-year-old man has died in an accident with a baler machine on a farm near Oamaru.
Police said they were contacted about an incident on a farming property at Five Forks shortly after 11am.
A Worksafe spokesperson said it was notified that a worker had died after becoming stuck in a baler.
It has opened an investigation into the incident, and police are making inquiries on behalf of the Coroner.
Worksafe said this was the fifth death on a farm this month and the 17th for the year.
