A man has been arrested and charged with murder over the death of an Opotiki man more than two years ago.
Earlier this month, police re-opened their investigation into the death of Brian Albert Hilton, who was 77, in July 2016, after receiving new information.
He was admitted to hospital with facial injuries, from what was believed at the time to be a fall in his home.
He died six days later.
The 50-year-old man facing a murder charge is expected to appear in the Whakatane District Court tomorrow.
