New Plymouth police are searching for a man who robbed a Pizza Hut last night, leaving a staff member injured.

The man entered the Westown restaurant just after 7pm, wearing a balaclava and holding a weapon.
He demanded a staff member open the till and injured a worker who tried to intervene, police said.
After taking cash, he left the Pizza Hut and got into a waiting car, which has been found and is being examined.
Police want to hear from anyone who was near Westown Pizza Hut last night.
