Fears for safety of missing Wellington woman

Police have ramped up their search for a pregnant woman missing in Wellington.

Sonam Shelar was last seen in the Wellington suburb of Khandallah.

Sonam Shelar, who is five months pregnant, was last seen on Cashmere Avenue in the Wellington suburb of Khandallah at 8.30am on Saturday 17 November.

Police said they have concerns for her safety and have asked the public to keep an eye out for her.

"It's been cold overnight and we, like her family are worried for her safety," Detective Senior Sergeant Warwick McKee said.

The 26-year-old has a slender build and is approximately 165cm tall.

Police said she was wearing a brown jacket with fur on the hood and white, black and orange trainers at the time she went missing.

Anyone with information that could help locate Ms Sonam is urged to contact Wellington Police on (04) 381 2000 as soon as possible.
