An arrest has been made after an attempt was made to rob an Upper Hutt pharmacy for a third time this month.

The Queen Street pharmacy was robbed at knife-point last Saturday morning, and the previous Sunday.

The Saturday robbery was carried out by a 29-year-old man who took prescription medicine.

Police said last night a man armed with a knife tried to break in.

Staff locked the door and the man left the scene.

At 8.20pm the man was located in the Totara Park area and arrested.

He will appear in the Hutt Valley District Court today charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of attempted aggravated robbery.
