The search has been called off for the night, for a man missing from a boat which sank in a Southland river.
The three metre dinghy with three people on board sank in the Aparima River estuary in Riverton.
Two people made it to shore, but another person is still missing.
Coastguard, police and Search and Rescue volunteers suspended the search at 7pm.
The search is expected to resume at first light tomorrow, about 7am, which coincides with low tide.
