Man arrested in relation to East Tamaki death

A man has been arrested and charged with assault with a weapon after his colleague died at an Auckland factory last night

Police remain at the factory in East Tamaki today where a 19-year-old man from Manurewa died.

His colleague, an18-year-old man, is scheduled to appear in the Manukau District Court today.

The pair worked at a labour hire company.

A scene examination at the factory is being carried out today with forensic experts.

Detective Senior Sergenat Kevin Tiernan said officers continue to speak to others at the factory and said further charges may be laid.

They were not seeking anyone else in relation to the death.
