More than 40 domestic flights to the regions have been cancelled, with fog affecting Auckland Airport for a third consecutive morning.
Another 37 flights were delayed, including a Fiji Airways flight to Nadi.
The fog restrictions were lifted just after 11am.
Passengers are being urged to check the airport's website for the latest flight information.
Dozens of domestic flights were cancelled yesterday and on Thursday as fog blanketed the city.
Auckland airport said flights to Christchurch and Queenstown have not been affected, nor have international flights.
