The Crusaders won back to back Super Rugby titles last night, beating the Lions 37 - 18.

A parade will start at noon with the Crusaders travelling by tram along Cashel Mall before travelling by foot across the Bridge of Remembrance.

A victory celebration with Christchurch Mayor Lianne Dalziel will then be held at 1pm.

Ms Dalziel said the win was a testament to the Crusaders' determination and commitment to their supporters.

One fan was frustrated at the timing of the celebration, which meant he would not be able to see the champions in red and black.

Tyler Brailey is a die-hard Crusaders fan who has attended seven games this season including last night's final.

"We're loyal supporters, we want to be able to attend it.

"To me the Crusaders are massive but I'm not able to make it to the parade and what does that do for the next generation of supporters?"

Mr Brailey said the popularity of Super Rugby had been put at risk.

"You'll get hundreds more children, more families there [if it was another time] and they are memories for life so you're sacrificing potentially future supporters, future revenue for convenience and I don't think that's wise at all."

But Christchurch City Councillor Tim Scandrett said tomorrow was the best time for the Crusaders.

"We've got to work in with them and they've got schedules to work in with and families so this is really a time that they could make it and totally dedicate that time to their fans."

Captain Sam Whitelock and coach Scott Robertson will address the crowd before the team heads out of the central city at 1pm.

The Super Rugby Trophy will be on display at the BNZ Centre until 4pm following the event.
