A body thought to be that of a man missing in Coromandel bush has been found near Castle Rock.
Shannon Earle Makowharemahihi, 37, was last seen on 1 June.
The body was found yesterday, about one kilometre off the Castle Rock Track, in very dense bush.
Police said he was a spiritual person who was known to go into the bush to meditate.
A formal identification has not been made yet.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
