The man charged over the death of Paekakariki runner Caroline Boyd has been sentenced to more than two years imprisonment.

On the morning of 19 March 2017, he struck Mrs Boyd, who was out running, with his car.
He was driving at an excessive speed.
Nathan James Lyon has been sentenced to 28 months imprisonment, with a further eight months to be served concurrently.
He has also been disqualified from driving for four years, which will begin upon his release.
Mr Lyon earlier pleaded guilty to reckless driving causing death, reckless driving causing injury and driving while suspended.
In a victim impact statement, Ms Boyd's daughter Becky described her mother as the heart and soul of their family.
She said Mr Lyons actions indicated an arrogance and total disregard for human life.
