Two southbound lanes on Wellington's Ngauranga Gorge are temporarily closed because of minor rockfalls.

The New Zealand Transport Agency said one lane will still be open to southbound traffic but delays were likely.
Regional transport systems manager Mark Owen said the work was expected to take a couple of hours.
"This is one of the busiest routes in and out of Wellington and we understand the importance of completing this work as quickly as possible," he said.
"We are putting in barriers because there has been a lot of rain lately and we need to remove the debris and do an assessment of the area."
The footpath would also remain closed until this work was completed.

SH1 southern access into Kaikōura closed
Rockfall from heavy rain will restrict access into Kaikōura overnight.
The Transport Agency has closed the State Highway 1 southern access into Kaikōura after about 20 cubic metres of rock and soil fell near the highway this afternoon.
It said the road into Kaikōura via Waiau and Mt Lyford, Route 70, was the only way in and out of the town.
The highway to the north of the town is still closed and will remain so overnight.
Traffic between Picton and Christchurch should continue to use the Alternate Route via the Lewis pass and St Arnaud.
