Police in Hastings are investigating the death of an unknown man found in a carpark in the town this morning.

The body of the man, who's estimated to be in his late 20s or early 30s, was found in a commercial area off Pakowhai Road next to a marital arts complex and shops selling tyres and carpets.
He was wearing a chequered grey/white long sleeve top, an orange glow vest, blue jeans and black shoes.
Police said the death was currently being treated as unexplained and a scene examination was under way.
