A private secondary school in downtown Auckland co-founded by the late Sir John Graham is to close at the end of the year.

ACG Senior College will merge into a new school in Parnell owned by the same company.
Staff and several hundred students were told of the closure at an emotional assembly this week.
When it opened 23 years ago, the school was noteworthy for being in the heart of downtown Auckland in a multi-storey office building, without grounds.
It was founded by Sir John - a former headmaster of Auckland Grammar - and fellow educationist Dawn Jones.
