A private fireworks display in Auckland harbour on Wednesday night left some people wondering about the cause for celebration.
The display at 9.30pm from a barge anchored 450 metres north of Queens Wharf lit up the waterfront and echoed through the central business district.
The fireworks were part of a display show put on by the exclusive Seafearers club.
Many people on social media were left wondering who was celebrating with a big display.
