Traffic is down to one lane on part of the Desert Road in the central North Island on Monday.
Emergency services are attending a truck-and-trailer crash near Waihohonu Bridge, about 1km north of Rangipo on Tuesday morning.
Although the state highway's north-bound lane has reopened, police warn that traffic is moving very slowly and motorists should take care.
