The list by the global media company recognises the talent of 600 business and industry figures in 30 categories.
Sam Stuchbury, who is now 27-years-old, founded Motion Sickness creative agency while living in his student flat in Dunedin during his final year in 2014.
The Auckland company works on delivering campaigns and content using social media and now has revenue reaching into seven figures.
He said he was surprised to find out he had made the list.
"I've just been focusing on creating really good work and just doing what we enjoy and it's just really humbling to be recognised on a global scale like this. I certainly didn't expect it for sure."
Mr Stutchbury will travel to Hong Kong in July for the Forbes 30 under 30 summit.
